The Bath Festivals – Photowalk
Bath’s flagship multi-arts festival, The Bath Festival, will take place from 11th to 27th May and will offer more than 180 events over an extended period of 17 days, bringing some of the world’s leading writers, musicians and cultural figures into the iconic buildings and onto the streets of Bath.
2018 marks the 70th anniversary of The Bath Festivals. To celebrate this important milestone, the festival finale weekend (26th and 27th May) will see the likes of Tears for Fears, Robert Plant, Imelda May, Alison Moyet, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Midge Ure and Seth Lakeman play on Bath Recreation Ground, along with a whole host of other festival entertainers including poets, roaming performers, childrens activities and more.
Baths biggest night of free music, Party in the City, will break from tradition by taking place during the second weekend of the festival on Friday 18th May when Bath will come alive with free performances in over 35 venues and on outdoor stages for all to enjoy. Launched by a school commission in the Abbey, the party atmosphere will spill out into the surrounding streets and bars and we have an unmissable opportunity for budding photographers who would like to get involved.
We have organised an exciting photowalk and will be offering free VIP access to a number of the venues where you can capture the fun, frivolity and atmosphere of the evening. And that’s not all! Those in attendance can post their photographs online for the chance to win an amazing prize. We are looking for images that best encapsulate how “The Bath Festival brings the city of Bath alive through the arts”. The photo that is judged to best capture the atmosphere of the Party in the City will not only win a years subscription to Digital Camera Magazine, the World’s favourite photography magazine but also a pair of tickets to the exciting Bath Festival finale at the Recreation Ground.
To register your interest, please fill in the entry form. Please note that numbers are limited. Successful applicants will be notified on Friday 11th May 2018.
